Inaugural meeting to incorporate the Geurie Village & District Association.
Incorporation allows residents in the village of Geurie & any person who resides within the broader Geurie district, as defined within the 2818 postcode to create an independent legal entity, which can enter into contracts (such as lease agreements), apply for various government grants for the benefit of Geurie as well as enabling Geurie projects to be progressed and streamline communication between the residents and Dubbo Regional Council via the Villages Committee of Dubbo Regional Council is representative.
Notice is hereby given of the inaugural meeting of the Geurie Village & District Association to formally resolve to incorporate the association under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW).

B. Background on the benefits of incorporation (limited liability, legal entity status).
C. Review of the proposed Constitution.
D. Voting on the Special Resolutions.
E. Election of the Management Committee (President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Officer and at least two ordinary committee members).
F. Discussion (amendment if needed) and voting on proposed special resolutions (noted below):
Proposed Special Resolutions:
1. Resolution to Incorporate: That the Association, currently known as the Geurie Village & District Association, applies for incorporation under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009.
2. Adoption of Constitution: That the Association adopts the draft Constitution as its governing document.
3. Appointment of Public Officer: To appoint a Public Officer for the purposes of the application for incorporation.
4. Objects of the Association: That the objects and purpose of the Association be confirmed as:

Monitor Council Accountability: Maintain a register of local infrastructure and service tasks to ensure Dubbo Regional Council delivers timely results for Geurie.
Empower Residents: Provide a professional framework for residents to document and lodge community concerns with relevant authorities.
Advocate & Represent: Act as a formal voice to all levels of government to secure necessary services and amenities for the district.
Preserve Local Character: Protect the unique rural heritage, environment, and social well-being of the village and surrounding area.
Foster Inclusion: Acknowledge Traditional Owners and seek First Nations perspectives in community planning and advocacy.
Provide an Independent Forum: Operate as a transparent, non-partisan, and non-political space for residents to discuss local issues.
