The Geurie Action Log: Transparency in Motion

The ‘Geurie Action Log’ is a live advocacy tool designed to bridge the gap between community concerns and official council response. Managed by your local representatives, Madeliene Cannon and Claire Booth, this log ensures that every reported issue in the 2818 postcode is tracked, monitored, and followed up at the quarterly Dubbo Regional Council Villages Committee.

Why the Action Log Matters

  • Proof of Reporting: It documents every Customer Request Management (CRM) number lodged by Geurie Village & District residents, turning individual calls into a collective evidence base.

  • Accountability: It tracks the Council’s "Service Obligations," ensuring that tasks like road safety, park maintenance, and weed control don't stall in the system.

  • Infrastructure Priority: By visualizing recurring issues… such as water system leaks or the maintenance of the Boori Creek "Town Drain" … we can advocate for long-term capital funding rather than temporary fixes.

  • Focus on the District: The log specifically monitors projects within the approximately 190 square kilometre area of the Geurie Village & District, ensuring our unique rural character is protected.

From "Proposed" to "Actioned"

Items on the log are categorized to provide a clear picture of where our village stands with the Council:

  1. Proposed: New issues identified through the Geurie Priority Issues Survey.

  2. Under Assessment: Issues currently being reviewed or costed by DRC.

  3. Funded/Scheduled: Projects that have been committed to future works plans, such as major bridge replacements or stormwater upgrades.

Your Role

The Geurie Action Log is only as strong as the data we feed into it. When you report an issue to the Council, always ask for a CRM reference number. Once you have it, share it with the Association so it can be added to the log and tracked until the work is complete.

"To promote transparency, accountability, and the efficient delivery of projects and services... for the broad and timely benefit of the Geurie Village & District."Object 2 of the Association.

Stay Informed: The latest release of the Geurie Action Log will be discussed at our community gathering on 17 May 2026 at the Geurie Bowling Club.
